Late Dr. Akhlakur Rahman

After completing his Masters in Economics in 1950 from University of Dhaka, Dr. Rahman began his academic career at the same university. He later studied in UK and earned his PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. Dr. Rahman taught Economics at Peshawar University, and worked with Planning Commission, various research organizations and as a banker. He started professional consultancy journey with EPC in 1979, and joined Jahangirnagar University (JU) on invitation in 1980. Mr. Rahman led the Agriculture, Socio-Economic and Rural Development sector of EPC. During his illustrious career, he has participated in a large number of economic development projects both at home and abroad. ProfessorRahman published a number of research articles in national and international journals. He published books on Development of Capitalism in Rural Bangladesh, Monopoly Capitalism and Marxian Economics.

Late Mr. A.K. Rafique Uddin Ahmed

Mr. Ahmed obtained his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Ahsanullah Engineering College, Dhaka in 1958 and subsequently obtained B.Arts in Architecture with Honors from University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), U.K. in 1964. Mr. Ahmed, considered as a Pioneer in the field of Architecture and Physical Planning in Bangladesh, provided consulting services to both national and international bodies like World Bank and Asian Development Bank. During his tenure with EPC, Mr. Ahmed served in the capacity of Chairman, Managing Director and Director.

Late Mr. Zeaul Haq

After obtaining Master’s Degree in Soil Science from Dhaka University in 1961, Mr. Haq specialized in soil survey, land use, land classification, aerial photogrammetry and interpretation under a straining programme sponsored by FAO (UN). His contribution to project identification, formulation and implementation of various major Water Resources Development Projects had earned him prominence amongst consultants and experts in Bangladesh. During his tenure with EPC, Mr. Haq served in the capacity of Managing Director and Director.

Late Dr. Sunil C. Sutradhar

Dr. Sutradhar graduated in 1964 from BUET in Civil Engineering and was later honored with M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Amstead University, USA in 2003. He led the Water Resources Sector and Bridge Projects of EPC. During his illustrious career he had participated in a large number of water management projects both at home and abroad. Dr. Sutradhar also authored books on Open Channel Hydraulics, Engineering Economics and Concrete Bridge Design. During his tenure with EPC, Dr. Sutradhar served in the capacity of a Director.
